Future of Flash - Panel Discussion
Tuesday, December 6, 2011 from 6:30 PM to 9:00 PM (MST)
Adobe's given the Flash Platform community a lot to think about over the past few weeks and we're still digesting all the announcements ourselves:
- Adobe Focuses on HTML5 and Deprecates Mobile Flash Player
- Adobe Plans to Move Flex SDK to Open Source Governance
There has been a lot of response to these announcements, and it's been difficult to determine what's true, what's hype, and what's just out in left field.
We've assembled a panel of professionals and community experts with varied perspectives on what these announcements mean for our community of digital professionals:
- Kevin Hoyt - Adobe Flash Platform Evangelist
- Joseph Labrecque - Senior Interactive Software Engineer at Unversity of Denver and Adobe Education Leader
- Jun Heider - Senior Architect at RealEyes Media and Adobe Community Expert
- Ryan Bell - UI Developer at Effective UI
- John Wilker - Founder of 360|Flex and Panel Moderator
We'll help you chew over these topics and give our take on how Adobe's announcements have or will affect our day-to-day development and business strategies. We have some Flex people on the panel and some that are HTML5 focused. Our goal is to have an interesting, productive conversation with the community about what these announcements mean and what they mean for the digital landscape. What we're not doing is focusing on how the communication about these announcements could have been better/different. There's a lot to talk about without getting mired in PR nuances.
Next, our gracious panel sponsors, RealEyes Media, 360|Flex, and Rocky Mountain Adobe Users Group are chipping in for some beer and snacks. Since it's also our last Denver Adobe Community gathering of 2011, we thought having some libations to go with this discussion were in order.
- 6:30 - Networking & Socialization
- 7:00 - Panel Begins
